MOS offers comprehensive data conversion solutions to serve organizational or individual needs across the nation. One such client has been the Oklahoma Bar Association (OBA).
The OBA was formed in 1904 and a major reorganization took place in 1939 when it was made mandatory for lawyers practicing in Oklahoma to be its members. The association also carries out various community service programs along with its primary mission of serving lawyers and the public. The OBA Office of the General Counsel investigates complaints against lawyers and prosecutes those committing ethical violations. The OBA website also provides legal information for people and conducts educational programs related to the law. Bar members elect the 17 members of the Board of Governors that governs the Oklahoma Bar Association.
The OBA’s digital publication, the Family Law Practice Manual was in Word and PDF formats and its over 40 chapters running to around 3000 pages were composed by different authors. In spite of the existence of a style guide, it wasn’t followed consistently. The client wanted a consistently styled MS Word DOCX format product conforming to the organization’s Practice Manual Style Guide. While each chapter needed to be a separate document with footnotes, the various sections also needed to be styled so that they could be easily converted to Adobe.
