Legal Process Outsourcing Industry Certification


Now the law professionals in India who are looking for the lucrative LPO jobs that mostly originate (about 75%) from the US can get themselves certified and become more qualified to join this booming industry. As the Indian LPO industry is poised to reach the 2 billion dollars mark by the year 2015 it has become necessary in India to set up a standard for determining the skills required for the growing demand for competent manpower in this legal outsourcing industry.

The Global Legal Professional (GLP) certification test is developed /conducted by some of the leading Indian LPO firms and the test will be conducted at different test centers across India in Septenber this year. At present of the 200000 odd law graduates who pass out of law schools every year, only about a 1000 are able to join the LPO industry. Most of the intellectual property litigation/research work is technical and requires technically qualified engineering graduates with a flair for law. Recently India’s leading LPO firm Pangea3, had recruited professional engineers from the prestigious IIT (Indian Institute of Technology). Thus the GLP certification is good for other professionals/paralegals as well for the law graduates who want to get into the LPO industry. A good command over English, professional skills and legal knowledge/ analytical skills are the basic required criteria.
