We work to your schedule and provide quality services while ensuring HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) compliance. Our entire work force is trained and monitored on HIPAA privacy, security, and confidentiality. We ensure that:
- No information leaves the transcription department. The services of home-based transcriptionists are not used
- Every employee is searched upon entering and leaving the premises
- All computers require passwords to start and open Windows
- All the external drives including floppy disk drives are disabled on each computer. Personnel are not allowed to bring in any floppies, electronic devices including laptops, PDA and written documents
- Hard copies of notes and copies of patient information including documents schedules are shredded on site
- Firewalls and antivirus software on all computers are updated daily
- Monthly back-ups of computer systems are completed and stored under lock and key on our premises. Technical evaluations are performed on a routine basis to ensure that all systems meet or exceed specified security requirements
- All lockers used for storage are password protected. None of the computers have Internet access
- A minimum of 128-bit encryption for all transferred files.
