Film Colorization and Photo Editing

Editing and colorization of photographs and films etc has always been a time consuming process and a challenging task. Colorization of films involves adding color to black and white picture images. It is a common process seen in today’s digital processing age. During the 60s, many old black and white cartoon movies had been re released after colorization. Colorization during those days was done by tracing of the original black and white frames and then adding color to the new cells. This method was invented by Wilson Markle.

Converting of color into black and white is also very much desired. Also known as film stripping, in this technique the entire film is shot in color and then certain areas of the film is converted into black and white while other regions remain in color. The Oscar winning movie produced and directed by Steven Spielberg had used this technique for making of the famous film “Schindler’s List”.

Since the early days (1914) a technique that was invented by Max Fleischer is being used to create special effects and color which is called as rotoscoping. This technique was used in the 3 different parts of the film called “Star Wars” to add a glow to a spear like weapon.

Colorization has been an area of intense debate since the early days. New colorization techniques and processes have kept evolving and there have been criticisms. For setting up a standard in colorization, an ‘Institute for Colorization’ has been created. It can be accessed at http://www.colourisation.net/

Online web based photo/photographs editing services are also in great demand. Digital photo editing software like Adobe Photoshop has revolutionized the industry increasing the possibilities and enhancement on a photograph. This is due to the fact that many of the old photographs in families are fast deteriorating and getting damaged/faded and have to be digitized and enhanced/ colorized for their preservation.

Managed Outsource Solutions is an online BPO and photo editing service provider that offers highly professional photo editing and photo colorization services besides other services like photo restoration, back ground removal, photo repair, photo enhancement and portrait glamorization services to its clients in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia.
